RegTech Convention - identity
Visual identity for the 29th RegTech Convention. The biggest annual European gathering of the financial regulation community.
Brand Identity. Logo Design. Social Media. Design System. Creative Direction.
Developing a sister brand
Organised by the FinTech firm Regnolgy, the RegTech Convention is one of the biggest global gatherings in the financial regulation industry. But even though it has been running for three decades it never had its own visual identity.
The big challenge was to create an identity which was clearly connected to the main business organising it (Regnology) but that could also stand alone as its own brand.
To make this project even harder the main Regnology brand was also simultaneously undergoing a brand refresh so I had to develop both visual identities in parallel making them distinct enough but still graphically connected (see the Regnology brand refresh here).
Identity by pattern
The main concept for the design came from the conference theme ‘Regulation 3.0’.
Using the 3.0 number, I created versatile, modular pattern that could stand alone, but also interact within a more complex composition, all while being light enough to not interfere with the core message of each piece.
The whole identity was created to be interchangeable between light and dark layouts depending on the context.
